A big thank you to Santa Claus who visited and rewarded all our good girls and good boys in the parish. Thank you Santa!
FATHER FRANCIS – Will leave for his annual break to go home on Sunday 28th December after his masses. He will return on 5th February 2026. As announced last Sunday Father Francis is returning permanently to Nigeria after Easter Sunday services. We wish him all the best.
CHRISTMAS CARDS – Christmas cards are still available on the table at the back of the church. Get your cards– early while they are available. Box of 18 cards £4.00. Gold embossed pack of 12 – £3.50 and small pack of 12 – £1.65. There are also individual cards available.
CHRISTMAS RAFFLE – Good luck to all who bought raffle tickets – big draw after mass today 4th Sunday of Advent.
Christmas Greeting Tree – Please consider using the Justice and Peace Christmas Greeting Tree on the board at the back of the church to send Christmas greetings to your fellow parishioners. As well as reducing your carbon footprint, thereby helping heal our sister, Mother Earth, you will also be also be saving forests, money and precious time. Any donations you wish to leave will go to The Wayside Club for the homeless.
Christmas Gifts – On behalf of the parish the Justice and Peace Group has taken part in the SCIAF real gifts program. We have paid for a Mobile Medical Centre at a cost of £40, Clean safe water at a cost of £40, donated towards Tree planting at a cost of £30, paid for Chickens at a cost of £15 and paid for two Efficient Eco Stoves at a cost of £18. We thank you for all your support and generosity over the course of the year.
ACAT Christmas Greetings Campaign – On your behalf the Justice and Peace Group has sent off Greetings Cards with messages of hope to 12 Victims of Torture from Asia, Africa and South America. Many of these people have been incarcerated for years with no hope of justice or a fair trial. Many have been arrested and imprisoned, cut off from their families for their work in Human Rights. Please keep them in your prayers as we prepare to celebrate Christmas with our friends and families.
If you are a taxpayer, you might want to consider using the donation envelopes and signing up for Gift Aid which allows the church to reclaim tax on your donations. If you Gift Aid your collection, we can claim back from the government 25p for every £1 you donate. Any persons who want to sign up should speak to Father Francis to complete the appropriate form which is basically just your name address and NI number.
