Confessions: Before Sunday Mass
CRIB – The crib traditionally remains up until the 2nd February, the feast of the Presentation of the Lord in the Temple. Please visit the crib and offer a prayer. There is a collection box for St Margaret’s Adoption Society beside the crib. Please be generous.
FATHER FRANCIS –Is away on holiday for a few weeks and the parish masses will be covered by the Comboni Fathers whose telephone number is 0141 641 4399. Anyone who wishes to speak to a priest can contact them or speak to them at any of the Masses. Please see schedule at the back of the church.
CHRISTMAS RAFFLE – Thank you once again, this year’s raffle raised £300 to help with the heating bill this winter Father Francis was delighted. So, a big thank you to everyone who donated prizes and who bought raffle tickets and congratulations to all our winners. The raffle was drawn on 4th Sunday of Advent by Father Francis.
ST VINCENT DE PAUL – On behalf of the Parish our St Vincent de Paul delivered tins of sweets for the children of Our Lady of Peace Primary which I am sure they enjoyed.
SELECTION BOXES – The church received a very generous donation of selection boxes (this was organised by Elizabeth O’Keefe) and we understand that they were donated by the persons who went around the whole of Barlanark handing out sweets to all the children. You may have seen the vehicles which were decorated and playing Christmas music.
ARCHDIOCESE NOTICES – Growing in Faith Retreat Days: Deepening faith and exploring the gift of active listening. St Aloysius Garnethill with the Ignatian Spirituality Centre, Glasgow. Four Saturdays, 10.30 – 3.00 (lunch provided; donation only). 17 January, 21 February, 21 March, and 18 April. Also, a Retreat in Daily Life starting after 12.00 Mass on Sunday 22 March. This lasts a week and gives individuals the opportunity to meet with a prayer guide every day. RCAG Young Adult | St Mungo’s City Pilgrimage Walk | Sat 17th Jan 2026, 1000 – 1500:

Vespers of St Mungo: Organised by Glasgow Churches Together/The St Mungo’s Festival.
St Andrew’s Cathedral, Clyde St Glasgow, Monday 12th Jan 2026 7pm. All are Welcome to this Traditional Evening Prayer for Christians. Vespers consists of an evening hymn accompanying the lighting of the evening candles, then ‘O God, come to our aid’, prayer, Psalms, the Canticle known as the Magnificat or Song of Our Lady, some intercessions for the needs of the community, the Lord’s Prayer and a blessing. Celebrate the Feast of our Patron Saint in this very special way.
