KEEPING THE COMMANDMENTS – Christ says to us what he said to his apostles, “if you love me, keep my commandments.” We cannot truly call ourselves his disciples if we don’t listen to his words and make every effort to live by them. With the Lord’s support and the inspiration of the holy Spirit we can put our faith into action.
PARISH FINANCE – Many thanks to everyone for your generosity towards our parish and clergy, it is most appreciated.
Our second collection next Sunday (World Communications Day) will be taken up in support of the apostolate of communications in Scotland.
AGAP Theatre Presents “Gaudi: God’s Architect”: Genius? Madman? Saint? The story of Antoni Gaudí, internationally renowned visionary architect responsible for Barcelona’s towering Sagrada Familia. The sell-out 2024 Fringe show written and directed by Stephen Callaghan returns with a revised version marking the centenary of Gaudi’s death. As all eyes turn towards Barcelona for the completion of Gaudi’s masterpiece and the case opens for Gaudi’s canonisation, a cast of three will bring to life the powerful and enigmatic events and characters surrounding God’s Architect. Carfin Grotto: Monthly pilgrimages at Carfin beginning Wednesday 13th May and finishing 13th October marking Our Lady’s apparitions at Fatima. Rosary Procession, Mass and Benediction. 7.30 – 9.15pm.
ADULT FAITH FORMATION – During the month of May, we have an opportunity to deepen our Easter Faith using the Sycamore Programme, which allows us to reflect on some video presentations and share faith with one another These will take place in the board room of the Diocesan offices (Clyde Street – City centre) on Wednesday 13th, 20th and 27th May from 6.15pm to 7.45pm. All are welcome
POPE LEO’S INTENSIONS – MAY 2026 – Let us join the Holy Father Leo in praying during the days of May that everyone might have food. Let us pray that everyone from large producers to small consumers, be committed to avoid wasting food, and to ensure that everyone has access to quality food.
R.C.I.A. Becoming a catholic – Adults who are interested in joining the church and follow the RCIA programme are invited to speak to Fr. Frank, fr. Innocent or our parish sisters.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNIONS 2026 – Our parish children (P4) of St Jude and St John Ogilvie will receive their First Eucharist (Holy Communion) at 10am Mass on Sunday 17th May. We welcome our children, their families, teachers, catechists and parish family to this celebration. Please continue to remember these children in prayer and by example.
SUMMER EXAMINATIONS – Please remember all those who are preparing for, or sitting important Summer Examinations that their hard work and efforts be rewarded.

ST PAUL’S YOUTH GROUP – (11-15 years) – St Paul’s youth group warmly welcome any 11-15 year olds in St Jude and St John Ogilvie Parish to join us on Monday 11th May, 6pm – 7.30pm (in St Paul’s Hall) for games, fun, pizza and a chance to share faith – you are most welcome to bring along your friends.
International Mass 2026 – Our International mass is planned for the Feast of Corpus Christi which this year is June 7th. There will be a short meeting after mass today for all those who would like to help plan our Liturgy. The Justice and Peace group would be most grateful for your support and input as we prepare again to celebrate our Oneness in Christ and our diversity in cultures, languages and nationalities. In spite of our differences “We are One in the Spirit, we are One in the Lord!”
Our final Circle of Friends will take place on Wednesday 13th May at 6.30pm. We thank the parents for their support and commitment throughout their children’s preparation for the Sacraments. Please continue to pray for these families as their children go forward to receive Jesus in Holy Communion.

Glasgow the Welcoming City: Glasgow City Chambers, Sunday 7th June 2026 at 3pm. The skirl of the pipes will welcome you to the City Chambers for this annual event with the Lord Provost, Church and Civic Leaders. We will celebrate our diverse cultures and celebrate Glasgow as a welcoming city to those who are seeking refuge and asylum. We will pray for peace in our world. and look forward to embracing the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Enjoy music and song with St Anne’s Dennistoun, Southside Fiddlers, The St Mungo Ensemble, Ukrainian musicians and singers and the St Mungo Singers. Refreshments will be served afterwards in the Satinwood Suite. We look forward to seeing you at this free event.
