There will be a second collection today for Caring Sunday.

Satna Claus is coming to the café on Sunday today 14th December 2025. He is looking for good girls and boys!
CHRISTMAS MASSES – The vigil mass will be at 8pm on 24th December and the mass on Christmas day will be at 10am.
FATHER FRANCIS – Will leave for his annual break to go home on Sunday 28th December after his masses. He will return on 5th February 2026. As announced last Sunday Father Francis is returning permanently to Nigeria after Easter Sunday services. We wish him all the best.
It’s Christmas – time again! Time for our annual Christmas raffle with prizes galore!! The draw will take place on Sunday 21st December and proceeds go towards our winter heating bill. All contributions gratefully accepted.
CHRISTMAS CARDS – Christmas cards are now available on the table at the back of the church. Get your cards– early while they are available. Box of 18 cards £4.00. Gold embossed pack of 12 – £3.50 and small pack of 12 – £1.65. There are also individual cards available.
CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT – The school will perform a carol service on Monday 15th December at 6pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to start off the Christmas season and the church always looks wonderful for the service. Please come along, all welcome
THE SCHOOL WILL JOIN US FOR MASS – On Tuesday 16th December the school will join us for the 9.30am mass. All welcome.
Christmas Greeting Tree – Please consider using the Justice and Peace Christmas Greeting Tree on the board at the back of the church to send Christmas greetings to your fellow parishioners. As well as reducing your carbon footprint, thereby helping heal our sister, Mother Earth, you will also be also be saving forests, money and precious time. Any donations you wish to leave will go to The Wayside Club for the homeless.
Christmas Gifts – On behalf of the parish the Justice and Peace Group has taken part in the SCIAF real gifts program. We have paid for a Mobile Medical Centre at a cost of £40, Clean safe water at a cost of £40, donated towards Tree planting at a cost of £30, paid for Chickens at a cost of £15 and paid for two Efficient Eco Stoves at a cost of £18. We thank you for all your support and generosity over the course of the year.
ACAT Christmas Greetings Campaign – On your behalf the Justice and Peace Group has sent off Greetings Cards with messages of hope to 12 Victims of Torture from Asia, Africa and South America. Many of these people have been incarcerated for years with no hope of justice or a fair trial. Many have been arrested and imprisoned, cut off from their families for their work in Human Rights. Please keep them in your prayers as we prepare to celebrate Christmas with our friends and families.
ARCHDIOCESE NOTICES –
Pro-Life Mass: The monthly Pro-Life Mass is on Wednesday, 17th December at 7.30pm in Holy Cross Church, 113 Dixon Avenue, G42 8ER. Adoration begins at 6.15pm. Tea and mince pies in the hall afterwards – all welcome. The celebrant will be Canon Joe McAuley.
Flourish: The Advent/Christmas edition of Flourish is out now. This special edition has something for everyone: the Archbishop’s message for Advent, the historic declaration of the city’s religious leaders against hate and division, a look back at the Jubilee Year with highlights from home and Rome, a new religious order of sisters coming to the Archdiocese, Advent and Christmas Mass times in the Cathedral, and a special feature on how Bethlehem will live this festive season. Legion of Mary – Christmas Cribs: Every year members of the Legion of Mary take out Christmas Cribs to display in public places, to remind those they meet about the real meaning of Christmas. Those met are invited to come and visit the crib and the Christmas story is told to those unaware of it. Copies of St Francis’ Prayer for peace are offered and generally these are very received. For those expressing an interest Christmas Mass times are given out. This year the cribs will take place on: Saturday 13th December at Maryhill Tesco from 12pm -2pm; Saturday 20th December at Knightswood Shopping Centre from 12pm until 2pm; Saturday 20th December at Paisley Road West opposite Morrisons from 2pm until 4pm. Prayers are asked for the success of this annual Christmas project.
ONLINE PREMIERE: “Pilgrim of Hope”. The hit AGAP Theatre Production for the Jubilee Year of Hope will be premiered online via YouTube on Wednesday 17th December at 19.00 and will be available to view thereafter. If you Gift Aid your collection, we can claim back from the government 25p for every £1 you donate.
