| REFLECTION |
| God chose the twelve tribes of Israel as a holy kingdom of priests. Jesus would choose his twelve apostles to form his Kingdom around. Paul states that Christ’s death reconciles sinners (us) to his Father. Jesus’ life after the Resurrection promises a future share in his glory. Matthew emphasises that Jesus set up a New Israel, by appointing his helpers in that Kingdom, not only the Apostles but also his disciples. We are all called to be labourers in the great harvest. Since God has granted us the privilege of aiding him, to heal and nurture peace, how does that make us feel? Made in the image of God, how do we take up the task of following his creative work? |

Eternal rest give unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

THE JUSTICE & PEACE GROUP GIVE A HUGE THANKS to everyone who helped in any way to prepare and celebrate the wonderful International Mass and meal we shared last weekend. It was such a joyous occasion and a real cause to praise and thank God for our multinational parish community. The readings, singing, dancing, and sharing of our national dishes made this a very memorable liturgy and one to be repeated, we hope. Not even the rain was allowed to spoil it! Thank you.
THANKSGIVING MASS, NEXT SUNDAY, JUNE 25th, FOR OUR PARISH’S RECENTLY CONFIRMED CHILDREN
They will now celebrate a mass of Thanksgiving with the parish. As full members of the Church they will do the Readings, Bidding Prayers, and Offertory Procession. They have also prepared the music for the mass. At this mass they will receive their Confirmation Certificate and a Confirmation gift from the parish.
MARY’S MEALS – IN JUNE – ‘RAISE SOME DOUGH’. Prayers are requested, please, for Mary’s Meals, and God’s continued blessings on their work. THE LISTENING HEART IS WAITING
A wee reminder that the Sisters of Charity have opened a Drop-In Centre, housed in a property opposite St Michael’s Parkhead, on the Gallowgate. Called ‘Listening Heart’. The Centre is open every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10.30am – 2.30pm. Please feel free to ‘Step in’ and have a Cuppa and a Chat.
2023 DIOCESAN MARRIAGE PREPARATION DAYS The next preparation day for those approaching matrimony will be held in the autumn on Saturday 16th September 2023. Its location is still to be determined.
