| REFLECTION |
| Jeremiah while under threats of attack clearly states his faith plainly – for his Lord is at his side and Jeremiah is sure that it is his enemies who will stumble. Paul assures us that Christ, the Second Adam, is our Saviour. By his perfect obedience on the cross to his Father we are made members of the new humanity – but only if we join with Christ, putting all our trust and hope in him. Matthew shows that Jesus himself never held back on his teaching even when it was met with persecution and open hostility. Undeserved it may be but persecution, wherever it arises, is still difficult to bear. Our most effective preparation for dealing with persecution are steadfast faithfulness and prayer. Jesus met persecution, face on, with both patience and generosity of spirit. How strong is our trust and faith that we will see God’s enemies confounded, stumbling about? How do we respond to persecution, open anti-Catholicism, hurtful untruths, vicious media attacks? |

It is the great feast of Saint Peter, leader of the early church, and Saint Paul, the great missionary to the Gentiles.

The funeral rites for Grace Edgar will be offeredat our 09:30 am mass, on Tuesday 27th June 2023, within St Jude & John Ogilvie.

All are welcome to the Sunday Café after Mass which continues its great work. Donations. £1.00 for an adult, and 50p for a child enable support to charities.

COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS NO LONGER APPLY. LET US THANK GOD FOR HIS MERCY. After due consideration the Bishops of Scotland have agreed that pre-covid conditions can now be returned to. This means that shaking hands at ‘kiss of peace’, use of holy water fonts, etc., are no longer restricted. Communal use of the chalice will be explored with parishioners before any reinstatement.
RIGHT TO LIFE PRAYER 12th Sunday of Ord. Time: “God knows every one of us, even the number of hairs on our head. Let us pray for those in our society who usually go unnoticed, but who are well known to God, like the homeless, those in hospital, those in prison, and the unborn. Lord hear us”.
2023 DIOCESAN MARRIAGE PREPARATION DAYS The next preparation day for those approaching matrimony will be held in the autumn on Saturday 16th September 2023. Its location is still to be determined.
MARY’S MEALS – IN JUNE – ‘RAISE SOME DOUGH’. Prayers are requested, please, for Mary’s Meals, and God’s continued blessings on their work.
