21st MAY 2023 – WHITE Jesus left His disciples dazed, unsure, sheep temporarily without their shepherd.
However, He advised them to go into the city and wait for the coming of the Spirit.

| REFLECTION |
| Acts records that, not knowing what else to do, after Jesus went up to heaven, the Apostles prayed together with Mary and other disciples, patiently waiting for the Lord to direct them further. Peter counsels us that we only share in the glory of Christ by being generous and unconditional in our love, and that has its price. John emphasises the fact that Christ has been lifted high in order to participate fully in glory of His Father. We are encouraged to Glorify Our Saviour and Lord, for He is all to us, our blessed focus in life, to worship Him. How can we show our generosity to others, even when we meet with opposition verbal or physical? When should we honour Jesus, the Risen Christ, for He too is God? |

In a packed church, the parish joyfully celebrated the Ascension of Our Lord into Heaven with the pupils and staff from Our Lady of Peace Primary, and parishioners in the Thursday morning mass.

All are welcome to the popular Sunday Café after Mass. Donations: £1.00 for an adult, and 50p for a child enable support to charities.
RIGHT TO LIFE PRAYER 7th Sunday of Easter: “In this month dedicated to Our Lady, let us pray for the grace to always be close to the Lord as the Blessed Virgin is close to Him, especially in our prayers for our vulnerable neighbours, including the sick and infirm, the widow and orphan, and the unborn. Lord hear us”.
2023 DIOCESAN MARRIAGE PREPARATION DAYS The next preparation day for those approaching matrimony will be held in the autumn on Saturday 16th September 2023. Its location is still to be determined.
MARY’S MEALS – IN JUNE – ‘RAISE SOME DOUGH’. Prayers are requested, please, for Mary’s Meals, and God’s continued blessings on their work. THE LISTENING HEART IN THE EAST END?
A wee reminder that the Sisters of Charity have opened a Drop-In Centre, housed in a property opposite St Michael’s Parkhead, on the Gallowgate. Called ‘Listening Heart’, the Centre is open every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:30 am – 2:30 pm. Please feel free to Step in and have a Cuppa and a Chat.
