| REFLECTION |
| Zechariah encourages Jerusalem to rejoice when their humble king approaches, riding on a young, male donkey. Centuries later, on Palm Sunday, Jesus enters Jerusalem riding on a foal, the mount of the poor and the humble. Paul welcomes the Spirit of Christ, which wells up in us, overflowing with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, empowering us to follow Christ. Matthew describes the intimate relationship between Father and Son. Christ is our gentle, humble king who promises that the Spirit will show us a joyful way of living with Christ, a light ‘yoke’. With our Father kindly revealing His plans to ‘little children’, how could we not take up the generous offer of Jesus, to give us rest? Are we ready to put our hands in Christ’s and experience the joy of His light ‘yoke’? |

SEA SUNDAY APPEAL TODAY
Seafarers and fishers play a vital role in all our lives, but they often work in difficult, hazardous conditions. In the last year, more crews have been abandoned by their employers than ever before. Too many are still being denied the right to leave their ships for even a short break away from the relentless noise and pressure onboard.
Crew members are increasingly increasing stress and experiencing poorer mental health. On Sea Sunday the Church remembers and prays for all those who live and work at sea. Funeral of Fr Carlo Centra, in Buncrana
The remains of retired priest, Carlo Centra, will be received into St Mary’s, Buncranna, County Donegal, Ireland, on Thursday 6th July at 2.00pm. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday 7th at 11.00 am – Father John Campbell, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Glasgow, will be the principal celebrant. He will be buried thereafter in church grounds with his parents. Prayers are requested for the repose of Fr Centra’s soul.
