| God, through Isaiah, tells us that His ways are utterly different from human thinking. God eagerly offers to free us from those things which hold us back. His generosity drenches us, soaking our very being. Paul’s conviction was that Christians are baptised into Christ’s death, waiting only for resurrection in Christ. Here he wants to join Christ in heaven but still wants to do what he can, for his beloved church communities. . In the same chapter Matthew gathers all Jesus’ teaching about forgiveness. Our relationships in family and community always get entangled in quarrels over nothing, offence taken at innocent words, and even disagreement for the sake of disagreement. Jesus underlines forgiveness as the way to put the past behind us, while cementing relationships and building community, locally, nationally, and even internationally. How has God affected the way you think? How you interact with others now? How do you react to God’s abundant generosity? Do you view the landowner as being unfair to those whom he hired early in the day? | ||

THE SUNDAY CAFÉ IS OPEN. All are welcome to the Sunday Café after Mass. All are encouraged to give donations to cover expenses and help towards charity.
SEASON OF CREATION – 2023 continues at 7:30 PM (UK time) on Thursday, 28thSeptember 2023 with Neil Douglas-Glotz: Birthing Cosmos and Self – Revelations of the Aramaic Jesus.
THE SEASON OF CREATION SEEKS DONATIONS FOR THE WAYSIDE CLUB, NEXT SUNDAY 1st OCT
As in previous seasons the parish will be gratefully accepting donations to celebrate the season. As in previous years, we will collect fruits, vegetables and cereals which are suitable for making soup. These are then delivered to the Wayside Club. It has been noted that special thanks has often been expressed about the donated fruit, especially oranges, which the men seldom see.
WEDDING ANNIVERSARY will be celebrated by Brian & Isabel McGlone this week, on Tuesday 26th September 2023.
RIGHT TO LIFE for 24th Sunday in Ord. Time. “Let us pray for peace and justice for all, especially for people who are unable to speak for themselves, including those confined to hospital, those dealing with disability, as well as the unborn. Lord hear us”.
RESUMING RECEPTION OF COMMUNION FROM THE CHALICE. The practice will resume shortly, Parishioners are still encouraged to use the medicated hand gel provided on arriving. Thank you.
DONATION IS NOW POSSIBLE BY QR CODE USING YOUR PHONE. Scanning the QR code with your phone is now live. If you are a UK taxpayer you can also Gift Aid your donation, and the parish can claim from the taxman, an extra 25p for every £1 donated.
CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD RESTARTED. The children’s enthusiasm was marvellous to behold. Our thanks to them and to their parents who help make it possible, for ensuring them their priceless opportunity to participate and grow in their Church.
WANT TO HELP FORM A SOCIAL COMMITTEE? Anyone interested in setting up a social committee are invited to contact Fr Francis or Phil Divers, with a view to holding a meeting. All welcome.
CHURCH & CHAPEL HOUSE REPAIR FUND Recent matters have underlined the need for major repairs to prevent further water damage to both church and presbytery (chapel house). Without viable alternative means of funding, it is planned, initially, to have a box for donation purposes set up at the back of the church. Thank you.
2024 DIOCESAN MARRIAGE PREPARATION DAYS
Two days are planned for next year. The last one was held yesterday, Saturday 16th September 2023 at St Dominic’s, Bishopbriggs.

ANNUAL PILGRIMAGE IN HONOUR OF VENERABLE MARGARET SINCLAIR. This was a very holy successful pilgrimage for all who attended.
CATHOLIC WOMEN AFFECTED BY SEPARATION & DIVORCE. Our next meeting for women affected by separation and divorce will take place on Friday 6th October in St Patrick’s Church Hall, Dumbarton from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. All new members are welcome to this confidential and peer led support group.
