| Ezekiel speaking during the exile of the Jews in Babylon, explains that now each person, each individual, is responsible for their individual sins. Through their daily choices they can become evil, or they can turn to the good. They can repent and live, even the worst sinner. Paul’s offers us what amounts to a hymn, about Christ, the Second Adam, giving homage to Christ and His glorious Father, for both are divine and worthy of our homage. Matthew sets a question to the chief priests and the elders of the people, bringing them up short but still not ready to follow their own faith. How have Jesus’ words stopped you in your tracks, and given you pause for thought? Did you listen and act? It is not just about saying the Christ is our ‘Lord and Saviour’. We have to make those words concrete, by expressing it in our behaviour, a very distinct change in behaviour. | ||

THE SUNDAY CAFÉ IS OPEN. All are welcome to the Sunday Café after Mass. All donations help charity.
OCTOBER IS THE MONTH OF THE HOLY ROSARY, OUR MARIAN DEVOTION. We are encouraged to grow closer to the Mother of God, and show honour to the Mother of the Church by praying the rosary daily this month, especially for Our Blessed Lady’s own intentions.
SEASON OF CREATION – 2023 This year’s theme has been Like a Mighty River– The Scottish Laity Network has now finished their ‘live-on-internet’ presentations, but they will soon be on their YouTube site.
LAST CHANCE TO DONATE TO THE WAYSIDE CLUB. Collection, marking the Season of Creation, has been made this last week, ending today. Thank you all. The fruits and vegetables will be delivered to the Wayside Club. The men look forward, especially to the oranges, which they seldom see.
RIGHT TO LIFE for 26th Sunday in Ord. Time. “The Church commemorates our Guardian Angels this week. Let us ask Our Lord to direct our Guardian Angels to watch over and care for all of us, and particularly those who are in need special protection like little babies, children, and the unborn. Lord hear us”.
RESUMING RECEPTION OF COMMUNION FROM THE CHALICE. When this practice resumes shortly, Parishioners are still encouraged to use the medicated hand gel provided. Thank you.
CIRCLE OF FRIENDS BEGINS. The group, which helps children preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation will begin again on Wednesday 4th October 2023. The classes for both children and their parents will take place in the church at 6:30 pm. Every child who is preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation must attend the classes and must be represented at the Parents’ class.
JUSTICE & PEACE GROUP The next meeting will be held, in the church hall, on Thursday 5th October 2023, in the church hall. New members welcome. Thank you.
