THE FEAST OF ST JUDE (28 th October) will be celebrated with a Novena commencing
on Sunday 20 th October and will run until Sunday 27th October. Unfortunately, there will
not be mass on the feast day 28 th October as there is a deanery meeting that evening.
Novena prayers will be said after all masses during this period.
Donations for the raffle to be drawn on Sunday 27 th October would be appreciated.
Raffle tickets will be on sale before and after masses.
DEANERY PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING – Will be held in St Thomas’
Riddrie on Monday 28th October at 7.30pm.
SECOND COLLECTION – Today Sunday 20th October there will be a second collection
for the Missions. Any wee boxes should be returned as soon as possible.
NOVEMBER LISTS – Envelopes are available at the back of the church and should be
returned before the end of October.
COMBONI SISTERS – Will be selling calendars and raffles next Sunday before and
after mass.
Sacramental Preparation -There will be a meeting for the parents of any child who is o be presented for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Communion or Confirmation in 2020. The meeting will take place in the Church on October 21st at 7.30pm. There is no need for the children to attend the meeting but every child who wishes to be presented for one of the Sacraments must be represented at the meeting
by one or both parents. At the meeting parents will be given the opportunity to enrol their child in our Parish Sacramental Preparation Programme. Participating in this programme forms an important part of the children’s preparation for receiving each sacrament.
Justice and Peace – On Thursday October 24th 7.30pm we invite anyone interested
to come together in the church hall to reflect on The Love of Creation with Sr. Mary
Kilpatrick who is willing to share the fruits of her studies with us. Please keep the date
for what will be a very interesting evening.
For the Attention of all Parish volunteers with (or pending) PVG certificates: All
volunteers working with children or protected adults should now have attended the
Safeguarding level 1 training. For those who still require to attend please note the next
Level 1 training dates, which take place in Eyre Hall, Archdiocese of Glasgow, G1 4JY
are: Monday 7 th October; Saturday 23rd November (2 sessions am & pm; Saturday 7th December. Induction part 2 training is also now in place, which all volunteers require
to attend. Training dates for Part 2 are: Saturday 26th October (2 sessions am & pm) in
Eyre Hall, Archdiocese of Glasgow; Wednesday 13th November in Our Lady of Lourdes,
Cardonald, G52 3QU; Monday 2nd December in St Mary’s, Duntocher, G81 6DL;
Saturday 7th December in Eyre Hall, Archdiocese of Glasgow, G1 4JY. It is essential to book a place to ensure we have handouts for you and can contact you if there any difficulties. Aid to the Church in Need: ‘Make a stand for Faith and Freedom’. An evening of talks, reflection and opportunity to meet and greet our guest speakers from the Persecuted Church.
