NOVEMBER LISTS – The November lists are still available at
the back of the church. Please feel free to add the name of
your deceased relatives. The lists will be placed on the altar
during the month of November, and the dead will be prayed for
at each mass.
BAPTISM PREPARATION CLASSES will begin shortly. There
are some parishioners who have requested Baptism but not
returned the Request Form they were given. Anyone who is
interested in joining a Baptism Preparation class please return
your form to Fr Francis or Sr Patricia.
GIFT AID ENVELOPES – Anyone who normally uses the gift
aid envelopes should collect their new envelopes at the back of
the church. If you do not currently use the envelopes and are a
taxpayer, please consider signing up for them. The church
receives 25% of all money paid via the envelopes from the
Government. All you have to do is complete a form one time
only and you will be given a number and a set of envelopes to
use every week. This is a very good source of additional
income for our church. Please speak to Father Francis of one
of the helpers at the back of the church if you wish to use the
scheme. You can also pay your contributions directly into the
church bank account. See below.
CHRISTMAS CARDS – Christmas cards are now available
on the table at the back of the church. Get your cards early
while they are available. Advent starts in two weeks on 30 th
November.
ARCHDIOCESE NOTICES -.
Pro-Life Mass: The monthly Pro-Life Mass is on Wednesday, 19 th
November at 7.30pm at Holy Cross, 113 Dixon Ave, G42 8ER.
Adoration begins at 6.15pm. Tea in the hall afterwards – all welcome.
Glasgow Churches Together: The Vigil of St Andrew’s Day.
Saturday 29 th November at 2.30pm in St Andrew’s Cathedral, Clyde
Street. Join Glasgow Churches Together to honour our national
patron and pray for the people of Scotland.
Advent Reflections: During Advent the South of Glasgow Deanery is
offering three Thursday evening opportunities for spiritual reflection
and discussion. 4 December – Hope in the Modern World (led by Fr
Stephen Reilly). 11 December – Justice in the Modern World (led by
Jamie McGowan, Advocate, and Fr Gerard McGuiness, Secretary of
the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland). 18 December – Bethlehem
Today (Live discussion with Staff and Students of Bethlehem
University). Christ The King Parish Hall, 220 Carmunnock Road,
Glasgow G44 5AP. 7pm to 8.30pm (Refreshments from 6.30pm). All
Welcome.
If you are a taxpayer, you might want to consider using the donation
envelopes and signing up for Gift Aid which allows the church to
reclaim tax on your donations. If you Gift Aid your collection, we can
claim back from the government 25p for every £1 you donate. Any
persons who want to sign up should speak to Father Francis to
complete the appropriate form which is basically just your name
address and NI number.
