| REFLECTION | ||
| Isaiah describes the heavenly banquet where Death is banished, and God’s faithful are welcomed home by the Lord of Hosts Himself. Paul finishes off his letter by stating that after all he has endured, he is ready for anything. He reassures them that all his strength comes from God, whose glory and presence seared the face of Moses, set Ezekiel and Isaiah to their knees in dread and awareness of their sinfulness before the majesty of God. Matthew relates the parable of the King’s son’s wedding feast, where ungratefulness and violence await his servants brining the invitations. All that thought, love and preparation that went into this feast has been flung back at the King. Others, less exalted, are generously invited to take the places of the high and mighty. However, one guest who attends stands out. He has made no effort to prepare himself properly with the ‘wedding garment’. He does this by failing to share the generosity. The Scribes and pharisees cannot miss the reference being made, and the clear warning being given by Jesus in this parable. How should we respond properly to Jesus’ generous invitation to follow His example, before the final wedding feast together, when he takes the Church, us, as His bride? | ||

CIRCLE OF FRIENDS CONTINUES and will resume on Wednesday evening, 25th October 2023. The classes for both children and their parents for Confirmation take place in the church at 6:30 pm. Every child who is preparing the receive the Sacrament of Confirmation must attend the classes and must be represented at the Parents’ class.
THE SOCIAL COMMITTEE IS UP AND RUNNING All welcome. Thanks to those who have already ‘signed up’. A tombola is planned as the first event.
