| Jesus started calling His disciples. He does call each of us. Samuel had to be advised by Eli to listen, and recognise His call. Have you ever, however unexpectedly, felt the call of God, to do something, to get married, start a career, decide to have children? How did it feel? Did you ever share that with anyone? | ||

The inaugural raffle for parish funds was drawn on on 7th January 2024. It raised £30-00, of which £15.00 was won by Nicky Smith. Nicky please come forward. Next raffle planned for Sunday 21st January 2024. Thank you for all who took part.
WE ARE ASKED TO ALWAYS KEEP IN MIND OUR HOLY SOULS. WE ARE THEIR HOPE. They depend upon our prayers, our Holy Communions, and the masses offered for their welfare, especially those who have no one alive to remember them. Please do not forget them.
DONATIONS TO THE PARISH ARE NOW POSSIBLE, BY QR CODE, USING YOUR PHONE. Gift Aid from taxpayers lets the parish reclaim from the tax authorities, an extra 25p for every £1 donated.

A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL FROM THE JUSTICE & PEACE GROUP for the wonderful donation our parish was able to make to the SCIAF Israeli – Palestinian Emergency Appeal. Thanks to your generosity we are able to send £625.00 to ease the suffering of the victims of this war.
Thank you, too, for the hats, scarves, gloves and socks which have been delivered to the homeless just when they need them most – during the freezing spell of weather we are experiencing.
On your behalf we also took part in the ACAT Greeting card campaign, sending cards with messages of support to fifteen people suffering torture, imprisonment or persecution because of their faith or work as human rights defenders. Our cards of support went to every continent.
For those who have excess tins or boxes of biscuits, sweets, chocolates, etc. and would like to be relieved of them, we will leave baskets at the back of the church and anything collected will be delivered to the Glasgow homeless. Please do not go out and buy anything for this collection. It was begun a few years back when someone asked if we could ‘relieve’ them of excess edible gifts once the festivities were over.
We trust everyone had a Happy Christ-filled Christmas and wish everyone many blessings in 2024.
OUTSIDE THE PARISH – MARY’S MEALS; “DOUBLE THE LOVE INITIATIVE”. Only days left to Donate. Your prayers are powerful and now your donations are doubled. In the campaign ‘Double the Love is Here’. Until next Monday, 22 January 2024, donations will be matched (by a group of generous donors), up to a total of £1M. So, £19.15 will now be able to feed two children for a school year, instead of just one child.
