Gospel : Lk 9: 28-3 (Jesus is transfigured)
As Jesus faces Jerusalem and the prospect of death, he is transfigured while at prayer. The Father declares Jesus to be his Beloved Son, and instructs the three disciples – and us – to ‘Listen to him’ as the fulfilment of the law and the prophets. His is the way that they should follow. Reflect: What might Jesus be saying to you today as you listen to him? What part of his way are you drawn to follow?

HOLY HOUR FOR PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST
There will be a Holy Hour for peace in the Middle East on Wednesday, March 16th, starting at 6:30 pm.
PRAYER for PEACE
O Prince of Peace, once more we hear the guns of war and see the faces of frightened children. We pray for the people of Ukraine, that they may be granted peace; for the people of Russia, that they may demand peace; and for our own country, that we may be a positive part of peace-making in this world. O Prince of Peace, lead us from this dark time to a deeper understanding of the global human family, so that all may break bread together in the secure embrace of peace. Amen.

THE SICK AND DECEASED
We continue to pray for the sick members of our parish that God will grant them strength and peace; and for those who have died, that God will bring them to the fullness of eternal life.
HOPEFUL NEWS
One of our parishioners, who works for South Lanarkshire Council, is required to work on Sundays. She was aware that Muslims are allowed time off for prayer, and decided to ask if she also could have time off for prayer on Sunday mornings. The answer was YES.

SYNOD
The first of the deanery parish meetings on a Synod Church took place in St Joseph’s Hall last Monday evening, with around 30+ people present from St Joseph’s and St Joachim’s parishes. There was a healthy buzz!
MEETING REMINDER
Our meeting will take place this coming Tuesday, March 15th, at 7:00 pm in St. Maria Goretti’s Parish Hall.
