The Celebration of Father Francis’ Jubilee, held in St Maria Goretti on Tuesday went very well, there was a large turn out and a very good mass and Party afterwards. Thank you to all who came to support father Francis and a special thanks to all who gave of their time to help on the evening.
October is the month of devotion to Our Lady and everyone is encouraged to say the Rosary as often as possible. Father Francis is in the church before mass for half an hour saying his Rosary and you are most welcome to join him.
The November lists and envelopes are available at the back of the church and you are invited to add the names of your deceased family and loved ones on the list and place it in the envelope together with your contribution. The lists will be placed on the altar during the month of November and all will be prayed for at every mass.
PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL – Next meeting will be on Monday 15th October at 7pm. We are still looking for new parishioners to join the PPC, If you would like to become a member please speak to Father Francis or Margaret McElroy.
MEMORIAL MASS – The mass for the deceased of the parish during the past two years will be held on Sunday 7the November and there will be a candle for all whose funeral was held in the parish. You are invited to also light a candle for anyone you have lost during the past two years but whose funeral was not held in the church. If you want a candle lit please let Father Francis know.
MASS FOR THE SICK – Will be held on Saturday 27th November at 10.00 and the Sacrament of the Sick will be administered during this mass. Anyone who wants to receive the Sacrament is most welcome. Tea and Coffee will be served ain the hall after mass
SUNDAY 24TH October is Mission Sunday and there will be a second collection that day for the work of the Missions.
SUNDAY CAFÉ – We would like to invite all parishioners to consider coming down to the hall after Sunday mass for the weekly café. This is a good opportunity to catch up with old friends and connect once again with people who haven’t had the chance to socialise with each other for a while. We would still like to invite others to consider lending a hand at the café on Sunday mornings.
HALL BOOKINGS – We have a slimming group meeting in the hall on Monday evenings. Anyone who would like to book the church hall should speak to Margaret McElroy
