3rd SUNDAY of Easter (YEAR A)
23rd APRIL 2023 – WHITE
We find out about God’s will from the Scriptures, and from the example of Jesus Himself.
| R 1 | Acts 2:14, 22-23 | God raised this man Jesus to life, and all of us are witnesses to this. |
| Psalm | 15 | You show your friends the path of life, give them the fullness of joy. |
| R 2 | 1 Peter 1:17-21 | Your ransom was paid in the precious blood of Christ |
| Acclaim | the Gospel | Lord Jesus, explain the scriptures to us. Make our hearts burn within us as you talk to us |
| Gospel | Luke 24:13-35 | They recognised him at the breaking if bread |
| REFLECTION |
| Christ met the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, but they did not know Him. He found them distressed, disappointed, and lovingly, patiently proceeded to explain to them the meaning of the Passion Week events already prophesied in from Scripture. Only during the meal, at the breaking of bread, did they recognise him. How would we recognise Jesus? Would we run quickly to tell others the good news of His resurrection? |
