Gospel: Luke 2:16-21 The shepherds hurried to Bethlehem and found the baby lying in the manger.
Reflect: The lowly shepherds dared to approach the manger. Do we?

EPIPHANY & THE NEW YEAR
A Blessed and Healthy New Year to everyone. For the children on holiday and their parents / carers may you enjoy the break. During the absence of Father Francis his duties will be carried out by Fr Javier Alvarez of the Comboni Fathers. Later Fathers Vincent and Desmond of the SMMM Fathers (St Barnabas’ and St Mark’s) will take up these duties. Please welcome and support their service.

PARISH ADVENT APPEAL: St Joseph’s and St Joachim’s FOODBANK. The Justice and Peace Group would like to say a big Thank You to everyone for the wonderful donation our parish was able to make to St Joseph and St Joachim’s Foodbank. Thank you, too, for the hats, scarves, gloves which were delivered to the homeless just when they needed them most – during the freezing spell of weather we had recently.
We trust everyone had a Happy Christ-filled Christmas and wish everyone many blessings in 2023.

PRAYER FOR PEACE:We continue to pray for peace in our world, particularly between Russia and Ukraine, as winter sets in. May we ourselves become agents of peace by becoming people of peace.

DONATING OUR EXCESS TO THE HOMELESS
For those who have excess tins or boxes of biscuits, sweets, chocolates, etc. and would like to be relieved of them, we will leave baskets at the back of the church, and anything collected will be delivered to the Glasgow homeless. Please do not go out and buy anything for this collection. It was begun a few years back when someone asked if we could ‘relieve’ them of excess edible gifts once the festivities were over.
