CHRISTMASTIDE
A Happy and Holy Christmas to one and all. As we celebrate our Divine Saviour’s descent to earth in the form of Jesus, we light the white candle.
We wish Father Francis a safe journey home and a great holiday visiting his family and friends. In his absence his duties will be carried out by priests from the Comboni Fathers. Cover will be provided after the New Year by Fathers Vincent and Desmond of the SMMM Fathers, who are based in the parishes of St Barnabas’ and St Mark’s.

Archbishop Nolan warmly extends his Christmas best wishes to all during this happy and holy Season. See poster. In view of postal strikes and inclement weather he has donated the money he would have spent on cards and postage to charity and sent an e-mail greeting instead.

JUSTICE AND PEACE GROUP
On behalf of the parish, the Justice and Peace Group has sent Christmas Cards to 18 victims of torture in Bahrain (8), Cuba (2), Eritrea (1), Iran (1), Myanmar (1), Pakistan (1) and China (4); and to two British Voluntary Organisations who work for the protection of asylum seekers and their integration into society (Bristol) and for minority ethnic women escaping domestic violence (Glasgow). The J&P Group will post these stories on the J&P notice board this coming week, so that we can pray for the people and for peace and justice in our world.
