Confessions: Before Sunday Mass
FATHER FRANCIS – DEPARTURE – Father Francis’ last mass will be on Easter Sunday 5th April 2026. St Maria Goretti have already planned to have something for him after his last mass in their parish and we in St Jude and St John Ogilvie parish are having a celebration after our mass on Palm Sunday 29th March 2026. Father will arrange cover for St Maria Goretti that Sunday.
There are envelopes in the porch if you wish to contribute towards his going away presentation. There is a box beside the envelopes where you can place your donation.
If anyone who can help by bringing food or refreshments for the celebration after mass on Palm Sunday it would be appreciated. Please speak to Margaret McElroy if you have any further questions.
JUSTICE AND PEACE – Lent Campaign
This week we would invite donations of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, herbal teas, sugar, UHT milk, powdered milk, sweeteners, biscuits, and anything else in that line. These are supplied in food bank parcels.
The Halliday foundation also accept donations of crockery and cutlery ( if anyone is clearing out! ). These are used to help people set up home for the first time.
Circle of Friends meet on Wednesday for their final meeting before the children receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Saturday 21st March. Please keep them in your prayers..
STATIONS OF THE CROSS – There is still a Friday available for any person or group who want to lead the Stations of the Cross. Please consider helping.
SECOND COLLECTION –Today’s second collection will be for SCIAF
ARCHDIOCESE NOTICES –
SCIAF Coffee Morning: Tuesday 17th & Wednesday 18th March, 10am – 2.30pm at Pauline Books, St Enoch Square, Glasgow. Coffee, cakes, raffle and a chance to hear more about SCIAF’s work and our Wee Box appeal
Legion of Mary: All active and auxiliary legionaries are warmly invited to attend the Acies ceremony in Corpus Christi Parish, Knightswood, on Sunday 22nd March at 3pm. Tea and coffee afterwards.
Music Ministry in Barlinnie Prison: Mass is celebrated in Barlinnie Prison every Monday at 2.45pm. At the moment we are seeking a couple of musicians who would be able to assist the two men who already play guitar at this Mass on the 3rd Monday of each month. Those involved usually meet around 2pm at the main entrance to the prison. RCAG Youth – World Youth Day 2027: Information evening on Monday 23rd March 2026, 1900 – 2100 – Youth Office. RCAG Youth – Lenten Reflection Evening with Archbishop Nolan: Monday 30th March 2026, 1900 – 2100 | St. Andrew’s Cathedral. Young adults (16+) are invited on Monday of Holy Week for a time of prayer and reflection, followed by a chance to enjoy hot cross buns and tea with old and new friends. Evenings of reflection in person at the Ignatian Spirituality Centre: 19 March; 11 June; 13 August and 5 November- 18:30 till 20:30. 35 Scott St, Glasgow, G3 6PE. As we move through the seasons there is a natural sense of change in the air. In a time of personal change and transition and often before concrete plans emerge as John O’Donohue puts it “your soul senses the world that awaits you”. This is an evening giving an opportunity to reflect on God’s constant call to newness and growth. If you are able to make a donation on the night that would be most welcome, however please do not let finance stop you from coming along.

If you are a taxpayer, you might want to consider using the donation envelopes and signing up for Gift Aid which allows the church to reclaim tax on your donations. If you Gift Aid your collection, we can claim back from the government 25p for every £1 you donate. Any persons who want to sign up should speak to Father Francis to complete the appropriate form which is basically just your name address and NI number.
