SECOND COLLECTION –
There is a second collection today for Assisted Parishes.
PREPARATIONS FOR SACRAMENTS –
The Circle of Friends for those preparing for confirmation will start on Wednesday 5th February. The following meeting will be 12th February and the final meeting will be two weeks later on 26th February. Confirmation will be celebrated on Thursday 27th February 2025.
SUNDAY CAFÉ –
Is on after mass every Sunday and it would be lovely if more parishioners attended. It is a good opportunity to visit with each other and have a chat.
MOBILE PHONES –
It has been noted that many people use their mobile phones during mass. It is customary to put your phone off or on silent when in church.
CRIB –
The crib does not get taken down immediately after Christmas and can remain until 2nd February, the feast of the presentation of the Child in the Temple. The money from donation box is for St Margaret’s Children’s & family care centre, formally St Margaret’s Adoption Society. Your donations are appreciated.
REPAIRS/COLLECTIONS–
From 21st April 2024 until 10 November 2024 We received from weekly cash collections £9,6413.50 of this £4,362.00 was Gift Aid. Your votives over the same period were £494.00, Hall £363.00, Stall £110.00 and Repair fund from the box at the back of the church £658.50.
There are some parishioners who contribute directly to our bank account and the above figures do not include these.
The bills for the repairs carried out outside the church have been paid but there is quite a lot of internal repairs required including new lighting for the church. Everyone is aware that quite of few of our lights no longer work but we have no cost for replacing the lighting. There is other work needed within the church but at present we have no way of paying for any of the repairs.

Newman Association: Receptive Ecumenism: a case study in Maryhill – A presentation by Fr Jim Lawlor and Rev Stuart Matthew. The Parish Hall, Immaculate Conception Church, 2049 Maryhill Road, Glasgow, G20 0AA at 7.30pm on Thursday 6th February 2025. All welcome. Refreshments provided.
