| Jonah did not expect the people of Nineveh to repent, but they did so wholeheartedly, and God, in His Loving Mercy, relented. Paul reminds us not to take up the values of our world, but keep closely follow God’s true word, guided always by the Holy Spirit. After the death of John the Baptist Jesus went about proclaiming the Good News in Galilee. He calls all of us, yes even you and I, to make our unique contribution to the community of faith, for we all have a valued place in God’s Divine Plan. It is never too late to repent, whatever we have done, or perhaps have not done. What do you want to do? Follow Christ to eternal happiness, or hang onto the things of this earth which never satisfy? Our real longing is for completeness in God’s loving arms. | ||
