OCTOBER DEVOTIONS – In the month of October, Pope Leo XIV invites the faithful to pray the Rosary daily for peace in the world.
PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL – The PPC is a consultative body within a Catholic parish that assists the parish priest in developing the parish’s mission, strategy, and pastoral activities by researching, reflecting on, and recommending practical solutions for pastoral matters. We are looking for new members. Anyone who would like to become a member should speak to Father Francis.
THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION – will take place on 23rd of October. The children are being prepared by the Circle of Friends.
SUNDAY CAFÉ – Now open after mass, all welcome.
ST PAUL’S RC CHURCH SHETTLESTON ROAD – Every Friday the Blether and a bite café offer a free lunch in the hall from 12 noon to 3pm. This is open to any person whether catholic or not. You would be most welcome to come along.
ARCHDIOCESE NOTICES –
PRAY AND ACT FOR GAZA
Justice & Peace Scotland invites you to “Pray and Act for Gaza” as we approach two years of war in the Holy Land. On Tuesday 7th October, please join our “Light a Prayer for Peace” action by lighting a candle and saying a prayer for peace. You are also encouraged to write to your MP urgently calling for action to end the suffering in Gaza. Candlelight Procession in Glasgow –
Almost 11 million unborn lives have been stolen by abortion since the passing of the 1967 Abortion Act. Please attend SPUC’s Candlelight Procession to ensure these precious lives are not forgotten. On Thursday 30th October, SPUC’s Candlelight Procession will leave John Street at Glasgow City Chambers at 6:30pm, heading toward St Andrew’s Cathedral. There will then be the praying of the Rosary in the Cathedral at 7pm, followed by Mass at 7:30pm.
Pause for Hope: An Ecumenical Service for all people affected by Cancer. Sunday 26th October at 4pm in Croftfoot United Free Church, 349 Carmunnock Road, G44 5HH. Reflection by Rev Leslie Edge, Chaplain to the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice. You will hear of the work of the Hospice and a collection will be taken up for the vital work of the Hospice. You will have the opportunity to light a candle and leave a prayer intention for yourself or people you know who have been affected by cancer. Please join us for refreshments, information and chat afterwards. All Welcome.
AGAP Theatre National Tour: “Pilgrim of Hope”, a solo comedy play inspired by the letter of Pope Francis for the Jubilee Year. Written and performed by Stephen Callaghan. Following great reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe, the production is touring parishes and schools. Glasgow shows on Friday 14th November in Sacred Heart Church Hall, Cumbernauld.
