THE FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT – (YEAR A) (p.281)
26th MARCH 2023 – RAISING LAZARUS – Violet Aid us in the final weeks of our Lenten journey. Whatever our failures so far, give us the strength to continue by putting our hands in those of our Saviour. Let us welcome Jesus into our imperfect lives, for He loves us as He loved His friend Lazarus.
| R 1 | Ezekiel 37:12-14 | I shall put my spirit in you, and you will live |
| Psalm | 129 | Come to me and I shall give you rest. |
| R 2 | Romans 8:8-11 | The Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you |
| Acclaim | the Gospel | Praise to you, O Christ, King of Eternal Glory (2) I am the resurrection and the life, says the Lord; whoever believes in me will never die.. |
| Gospel | John 11:1-45 | I am the resurrection and the life |
Reflect: Martha and Mary both meet Jesus with the same greeting, even if one does so with faith and the other with reproach. Both display a deep feeling that the presence of Jesus is incompatible to the finality and pain of death. Can we approach the events of Good Friday with the same clarity, while carrying our own experiences(s) of loss and mourning? __________________________________________________________________________________
