TWENTY-FIFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (YEAR C)
THIRD SUNDAY OF THE SEASON OF CREATION
GOD’S WORD FOR US TODAY
Reading 1: Amos 8: 4-7-11
The prophet Amos fiercely condemns social injustice – and especially those who trample on and exploit the needy and impoverished.
Psalm: Hymn Book, No 658, The Lord hears the cry of the poor.
Reading 2: 1 Timothy 2: 1-8
St Paul urges us to lives of prayer. We are to pray for all, including those in positions of political authority, for they have responsibility to care for the vulnerable in society and preserve the peace. God longs for a loving and truthful relationship with all people.
Gospel Acc: Alleluia, alleluia! Open our hearts, O Lord, to accept the words of your Son. Alleluia . . . .
Gospel : Lk 16: 1-13
Jesus is unambiguous regarding the right use of money. Tainted as it is, money has a place in the life of believers. However, it should be used ethically for the greater good of all. Reflect: How do I show in my life a wise and prudent use of money and material possessions?

We pray for the people of Russia, that they may demand peace. We pray for our country, that we may be a positive part of peace-making in this world. O Prince of Peace, lead us from this dark time to a deeper understanding of the global human family, so that all may break bread together In the secure embrace of peace. Amen.
