MAY DEVOTIONS –May is the month of Our Lady and everyone is encouraged to pray the Rosary daily.
SECOND COLLECTION – Will be taken up on June 1st for Communications Sunday.
Circle of Friends for children preparing to make First Communion this continues on Wednesday 21st May. Classes for parents and children will take place in the church / hall and will begin at 6.30pm. Every child hoping to be presented for the Sacrament must attend and must be represented at the Parents’ Meeting.
Celebration of our Internationality – This year we will celebrate our Parish International Mass on June 22nd the feast of Corpus Christi, celebrating, again, the fact that though many nations we make up the One Body of Christ in our world.
Please try to keep the date free so that we can have all of our nationalities represented. Next week, we will distribute flyers inviting you to join in the preparation and carrying out of the Liturgy on that day. Please take one and fill in your contact details so that we have a good-sized group to prepare our celebration.
We will have a meeting after mass on Sunday 8th June at which we can arrange who will carry out the various ministries, Welcomers, Readers, Music, Gift Bearers, Food for the Agape etc. Readings and Bidding Prayers will be distributed in English!
We will have a final meeting after mass on Sunday 15th June to finalise and check everything is in place for our Annual International Feast!

ST JUDE LOURDES PILGRIMAGE – The pilgrimage will depart from St Jude’s Church on Sunday 15th June at 8.00am. Mass will be offered by Father John Gannon at 6.45am prior to departure. Parishioners would be very welcome at the mass. There will be a basket placed on Our Lady’s altar for petitions which will be placed at the Grotto in Lourdes.
ARCHDIOCESE NOTICES – The World Union of Catholic Teachers (UMEC-WUCT) is committed to supporting Catholic educators across the world, and particularly those teaching in Catholic and nondenominational schools and universities. During the Jubilee Year 2025 this survey aims to learn more about Catholic teachers. We invite you to scan the QR code and complete the questionnaire to help understand the identity of the Catholic teacher. It should only take 5-10 minutes of your time. The results of the survey will be presented at the Jubilee conference of the Education, in November 2025 and published on the UME-WUCT webpage. Please respond promptly, by the end of May at the latest.
Pro-Life Mass: The monthly Pro-Life Mass is on Wednesday, 21st May at 7.30pm at Holy Cross, 113 Dixon Ave, G42 8ER. Adoration begins at 6.15pm. Tea in the hall afterwards – all welcome. The celebrant will be Fr Charles Coyle.
Celebrating Laudato Si Week 2025: The Ogilvie Centre, St Aloysius Church Garnethill. Saturday 24 May: 12.15pm – Laudato Si Mass; 1 pm Lunch; 1.45pm – 4 pm – Celebrating Laudato Si Week. Film – Faith, Ecology and Hope and Three Faces of the Amazon: Encounters at the Borders – Fr Gonzalo Castro SJ – a Jesuit priest from Chile currently based in Edinburgh.
Legion of Mary Annual Day of Thanksgiving: The Legion of Mary in Scotland will be holding the Annual Day of Thanksgiving on Sunday 25th May in Carfin Grotto. All active and auxiliary members as well as friends of the Legion are very warmly welcome to join with Legionaries from all over Scotland for this day of thanksgiving. The proceedings will begin with Mass at 3pm which will be celebrated by Bishop Keenan. This will be followed by the Rosary Procession and Benediction which will start at 5pm. All Spiritual Directors are cordially invited to attend.
Scottish Catholic Theology Forum Conference: The Archdiocesan Offices, 196 Clyde Street, G1 4JY. Saturday 14th June 11am – 3.30pm. This year’s conference will consider how we get to a theology of synodality, explore women’s perspectives, and reflect on synodality as a mark of the church. It will be highly participative. Evenings of Reflection in person at the ISC: Dates: 29 May; 28 August and 13 November – time 6.30 till 8.30pm. Venue: Ignatian Spirituality centre, 35 Scott St, Glasgow, G3 6PE. As we move through the seasons there is a natural sense of change in the air. In a time of personal change and transition and often before concrete plans emerge as John O’Donohue puts it “your soul senses the world that awaits you”. This is an evening giving an opportunity to reflect on God’s constant call to newness and growth. If you are able to make a donation on the night that would be most welcome, however please do not let finance stop you from coming along.
Annual Linn Cemetery Mass is planned for Saturday 31 May at 3pm. If the weather is inclement then the Mass for the Dead will be in nearby St Margaret Mary’s Church Building (G45 9NT). St Thomas More: “I pray that we meet merrily in heaven.” (Clergy are welcome to concelebrate; please bring a Purple Stole.)
Jubilee of Hope Day Retreat on Saturday 7 June, 11am- 3pm at St Bartholomew’s Church Building, Hall & Grounds (Theme will be “Hope”) and then Saturday, 14 June, 11am- 3pm at St Margaret Mary’s Church Building, Hall and Grounds (Theme: “Sacred Heart of Jesus.” Both will be led by a Priest from the Congregation: “Sons of Mary, Mother of Mercy.” Bring your own Packed Lunch (Tea, Coffee & Juice Provided)
